Securities And Exchange Commission (Sec):
A federal agency that regulates the securities exchanges and the over-the-counter markets, and works to protect investors from unfair and inequitable practices. The sec administers the securities act of 1933, the securities exchange act of 1934, the trust indenture act, the investment company act, and the public utility holding company act.
